Ya probably already know...

...that on the weekend of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in SF, I was curled up in bed in a tight little ball, wishing for some pretty awful abdominal pain to go away. I don't think I've ever been quite as sick, and there was no way that I could have made it even halfway to SF to even think about participating.

After last year's SF 3 Day, this just adds another layer of bummed out on my overall Walk history; never mind the crushing disappointment of not getting to go play with DKM in the city, I raised a couple thousand bucks and didn't walk.

I have that in front of me as a goal; I may not walk the miles as part of the Avon Walk, but when I'm recovered enough, I promise, I will walk those miles. I will take a couple of days, go into SF, and I will spend them walking the 40 miles I fully intended to on July 7th and 8th.

It might not be until mis to late November--I honestly don't know what kind of recovery frame I'm looking at here, but I fully expect to be 100% by then, after the Komen 3 Day (crewing, not walking), after a colonoscopy (this is what I fear will trip me up) and after going on a family vacation (with my guys...this is long planned, part business, and they come first)--but I swear, I will lace up, hit the streets of San Francisco, and give my donors the 40 I promised.

See, I KNOW you would have been there if you could. So, in my mind you already walked them. The money went where it was suppose to go and you raised it. Nuff said.

Don't wreck yourself to walk those miles--I'm with G.G.; you did your part already. Spend your time getting better, and if that eventually includes walking, fine. But don't go nuts!

I, too, am with GG. You have raised a ton of money for breast cancer research, education, etc. You are awesome! I hope you are 100% SOON!

I need to do it. Plus...it's an excuse to stay overnight in SF. And I owe DKM some cheesecake!
